Effect of Different Mulching Material on Watermelon [Citrullus lanatus (Thunb.)] Hybrid under Prayagraj Agro-climatic Condition

The present field experiment was carried out during 2021-2022 at the Vegetable Research Farm, Department of Horticulture, Sam Higginbottom University Agriculture Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj. laid in Randomized Block Design with three replications nine treatments. investigation a view to study effect different mulching material on growth, yield quality watermelon. results revealed that plant growth superior silver plastic mulch respect days germination, numbers branches per vine length. Plants without (control) resulted poor growth. Watermelon plants mulched recorded maximum number leaves; whereas, minimum control. characters such as fruit length, diameter, fruits plant, average weight plot were significantly highest treatment mulch. Similarly, (27.52kg) hectare watermelon (66.04 t/ha) also observed same treatment. From economic point view, net return cost ratio. pulp lowest acidity noted This vitamin C, TSS.
